Capability Delivery Lead

Cooke Aquaculture Inc.City of Saint John, NB

About The Position

Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. Our company’s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area’s economy and sense of community. The Role This is not a traditional project management role. While you will plan and track work, the real differentiator is how you show up: you build trust fast, communicate with confidence, create momentum, and hold people accountable without relying on authority. You work in tandem with the Capability Technology Manager to ensure delivery is aligned, resourced, and unblocked. You partner closely with BSAs/BAs to ensure requirements are clear and actionable. You are the person the team looks to when things need to move. With the tools available today, much of the administrative side of delivery - plans, status updates, risk logs, documentation - can be produced faster than ever. That means the value of this role is not in generating artifacts. It is in the ability to read a room, drive a difficult conversation, build confidence with stakeholders, and create the momentum that keeps delivery on track. That is what this role is about.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Practical experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong verbal communication skills - you can facilitate a room, present to leadership, and have difficult conversations with confidence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience with collaboration and delivery tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and MS Project.
  • Comfort using AI-powered tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) to support planning, reporting, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or similar project management certification is an asset but not required; Delivery results and leadership presence matter more.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery execution for assigned capability initiatives from initiation through close-out, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.
  • Work in tandem with the Capability Technology Manager to align delivery priorities, manage resource constraints, and resolve technical blockers.
  • Partner with Business Systems Analysts and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are well-defined, validated, and delivery ready.
  • Engage directly with business capability owners and stakeholders to build trust, manage expectations, and maintain alignment throughout delivery.
  • Drive a sense of urgency across delivery teams-proactively identify stalls, escalate early, and keep work moving forward.
  • Facilitate delivery ceremonies (standups, sprint reviews, planning sessions) with purpose and energy-not just process.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change activities with a bias toward action and resolution.
  • Communicate project status clearly and confidently to stakeholders and leadership-both verbally and in writing.
  • Leverage available tools to accelerate planning, documentation, reporting, and analysis, freeing time to focus on people and outcomes.
  • Ensure project documentation meets PMO governance standards and is accurate, current, and decision ready.
  • Support benefits tracking and ensure delivered work connects to measurable business outcomes.
  • Contribute to PMO continuous improvement through lessons learned and delivery practice refinement.
