About The Position

This program focuses on increasing voter participation and engagement in Pilsen, Little Village, and the surrounding neighborhoods, and ensuring that every voice in the community is heard. At Solidarity Strategies, we are committed to electing Democrats and driving progressive change through grassroots organizing and one-on-one conversations with voters. We're hiring passionate, outgoing, and reliable canvassers to join our field team in Pilsen and Little Village. As a canvasser, you will speak directly with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign, and collect important data using tools like MiniVAN. This turf is predominantly Spanish-speaking, and most of your conversations will happen in Spanish. We're looking for canvassers who can move comfortably between English and Spanish and who understand the community they're talking to. This is an entry-level position — no prior experience required. Paid training will be provided. Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a smartphone with mobile data
  • Reliable transportation to and from your assigned turf — CTA, rideshare, bike, or personal vehicle all work
  • Flexible availability: 12+ hours per week
  • Fluent, conversational Spanish and the confidence to run a full voter conversation in it
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people
  • Comfort speaking with mixed-language and multigenerational households
  • Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation
  • Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning

  • Roots in or familiarity with Pilsen, Little Village, or the surrounding area is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods
  • Talk with voters in English and Spanish and share information about the campaign
  • Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN
  • Submit daily reports and check in with your supervisor
  • Represent the campaign and its values professionally
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers
