About The Position

This is a Part-Time position serving as a section leader for the Cathedral Choir and a member of the Cathedral Cantorei. Responsibilities include leading rehearsals, providing vocal and musical support to choir members, and singing for special services and masses. Additional work may be available as a Cantor and/or Funeral and Wedding Soloist.

Requirements

Thorough preparation of all choral music prior to rehearsals.
Ability to provide vocal and musical support to volunteer choir members.
Ability to provide leadership for congregational singing.
Ability to lead choral warm-ups and sectional rehearsals.
Ability to secure a competent substitute when necessary.

Responsibilities

Serve as a section leader for the Cathedral Choir at Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday 10:00 am mass (mid-September through mid-June).
Serve as a member of the Cathedral Cantorei for special services and concerts, and sing at Sunday 10:00 am and Noon masses in the absence of the Cathedral Choir (including summer months).
Have all choral music thoroughly prepared prior to all rehearsals.
Provide vocal and musical support to the volunteer choir members, and provide leadership for congregational singing.
Lead choral warm-ups and sectional rehearsals on occasion, as determined by the Director of Music.
Secure a competent substitute when requested by the Director of Music if the section leader must be absent from a scheduled rehearsal or service.
Additional work may be available as a Cantor and/or Funeral and Wedding Soloist.
