About The Position

The Cannabis Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional individualized customer service, educational consulting, and in some cases patient record management. This is a full-time position requiring open availability, including weekends and holidays. The role involves educating customers and patients on cannabis products for wellness, building customer rapport, and working in a fast-paced retail environment. Advisors must stay updated on product information and comply with all state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
  • Undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging.
  • Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
  • Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software (Word, Excel, email, etc.).
  • Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional individualized customer service and educational consulting.
  • Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
  • Act as an advocate for cannabis customer care.
  • Educate customers and patients on cannabis and its potential wellness applications.
  • Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
  • Work effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products (without providing medical advice).
  • Engage in continued, on-going cannabis education and training.
  • Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
  • Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
  • Understand and apply detailed compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
  • Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of regulated and unregulated inventory.
  • Complete transactions at the POS and ensure accurate updates to the state-monitored inventory system (METRC, BioTrack, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
