About The Position

Boothby Therapy Services (BTS) is hiring a Candidate Engagement Specialist to drive one of the most critical parts of our hiring process: closing great candidates. BTS partners with schools across New England, providing high-quality school-based therapy services and the strength of our team starts with who we hire. This is not a post-and-wait recruiting role. We're looking for someone who knows how to build rapport quickly, read a conversation in real time, and confidently guide candidates from interest to commitment. If you thrive in live conversations, can navigate objections naturally, and enjoy connecting with people, you'll do well here.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to close; you can move someone from interested to committed through conversation
  • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with new people daily
  • Ability to read tone, pick up on hesitation, and adjust your approach in real time
  • Experience navigating compensation conversations and candidate concerns
  • Fast-moving and responsive; you understand that speed matters in hiring
  • Comfortable handling unexpected questions and thinking on your feet
  • Collaborative mindset; you work closely with hiring and pipeline teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting in education, healthcare, or school-based services
  • Background as a school-based provider (SLP, OT, PT, Special Educator, etc.)
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting or closing credentialed professionals
  • Familiarity with ATS systems and candidate pipelines

Responsibilities

  • Lead candidate conversations and move qualified candidates to offer acceptance
  • Address questions, navigate hesitations, and communicate BTS's value clearly and authentically
  • Negotiate compensation, timelines, and details without losing the relationship
  • Respond quickly when candidates are available - timing matters!
  • Conduct initial interviews and competency-based assessments
  • Assess fit, build rapport, and provide clear feedback to the hiring team
  • Keep candidates moving through the process without unnecessary delays
  • Engage candidates directly through platforms like Indeed and LinkedIn
  • Reach out to passive candidates and generate interest in opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to prioritize outreach based on hiring needs
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with candidates at every stage
  • Deliver both offers and rejections with professionalism and respect
  • Ensure every candidate leaves the process with a positive impression of BTS
