About The Position

The Candidate Assessment Specialist works with leadership and managers to strengthen the quality, consistency, and objectivity of the interview process. This role involves communicating and modeling the organization's vision statement, creating a professional and respectful interview experience, and serving as a neutral interview partner to help managers evaluate candidates beyond first impressions. The specialist uses sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and professional curiosity to observe candidate responses and bring forward insights to improve hiring decisions and interview practices. Key responsibilities include attending interviews, acting as a second interviewer, reviewing position details with managers beforehand, using approved questions, ensuring fair candidate opportunities, and remaining attentive and objective throughout interviews. The role also involves evaluating candidates using approved forms and scoring criteria, observing verbal and nonverbal communication, identifying response patterns, noting positive indicators, separating observations from assumptions, and considering the complete interview. Furthermore, the specialist partners with managers by conducting post-interview discussions, providing objective feedback, recommending further steps, supporting decision-making without making the final hiring decision, and helping managers improve their interviewing skills. Maintaining consistency in the interview process through approved tools and standards, documenting observations objectively, and identifying areas for process improvement are crucial. The role requires regular travel to White Pine/Gracewood communities, virtual participation when necessary, maintaining a reliable vehicle, and efficient travel planning. Additional duties include attending trainings and meetings, staying updated on hiring expectations, communicating concerns to leadership, adhering to privacy and professional conduct standards, and performing other requested duties.
