The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is seeking a Cancer Registrar to review, analyze, code, and enter cancer incidence data into the state registry. This role involves determining case reportability using cancer registry rules and medical information, checking incoming reports for completeness and accuracy, and resolving data discrepancies. The Cancer Registrar will abstract and code hardcopy submissions, consolidate multiple reports into unified case records, and maintain compliance with HIPAA and all privacy requirements. Additionally, the position provides technical assistance to reporting facilities to resolve documentation or coding issues, links registry data with Vital Statistics death records to identify missing cases, and conducts quality assurance checks to ensure data meets national registry standards. The role also supports registry operations, process improvements, training materials, and special projects. This position requires the ability to be in person at the ODH building in Columbus, OH at least one day per month.
