About The Position

The Cancer Center Day Hospital within Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital is a great team to work with! This role offers a high level of autonomy while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. The positions works between the Cancer Center Lab and Cancer Center Infusion, with responsibilities including blood draws, accessing central lines, placing peripheral IV’s (PIV’s), obtaining vital signs, and rooming patients. We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. In the Cancer Center, you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey. The work is incredibly rewarding, while also requiring empathy and resilience during emotionally challenging moments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, or
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification or 5 years ambulatory experience, or
• Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician program or 3 years of EMT experience, or
• Currently enrolled in nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical rotation.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Blood draws
• Accessing central lines
• Placing peripheral IV’s (PIV’s)
• Obtaining vital signs
• Rooming patients
• Assisting with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to vital signs
• Performing blood draws
• Maintaining the environment of care
• Managing supply inventory
• Assisting providers and other members of the Cancer Center interdisciplinary care team to enhance the patient care experience
