Capital Health is seeking a Cancer Center Scheduler for Radiation Oncology at Hopewell. This is a full-time position with day shifts. The scheduler will collaborate with physician offices, hospital clinics, or directly with patients to schedule appointments, ensuring no resource conflicts. They will also gather and manage patient medical records, including prescriptions, demographics, financial information, and H&P, ensuring proper filing and scanning. The role involves performing all medical receptionist duties, such as greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling, checking patients in and out, and handling associated computer and paperwork. Additionally, the scheduler will coordinate follow-up care communication, ensure efficient patient flow, maintain positive working relationships, and coordinate inter-departmental services like pharmacy, lab, and diagnostic imaging. They will also arrange patient transportation and verify insurance precertification, authorization, and physician orders for billing accuracy. The position requires reviewing routine issues with supervisors, handling patient problems, and referring difficult situations appropriately. Communication with physicians' offices regarding treatment documentation, cancellations, and missed appointments is key, serving as a resource for referral processes. The scheduler will assist coworkers during busy periods and collaborate with physicians and supervisors on new program introductions and operational efficiency. Additional duties may be requested.
