Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification though the American Heart Assoc.
- Completion of ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Fundamentals of Administration or Certificate Course within 3 months of employment
- 5+ years of clinical RN experience
- 2+ years of oncology experience
- Experience with EMRs
- Valid and current Texas RN license
- Ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
- Proficient computer skills
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
- Ability to travel to other KSC locations periodically
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in nursing or related
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Certification
- Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) Certification
- Ambulatory care experience
- Infusion therapy experience
- Teaching experience
- Epic experience
Responsibilities
- Development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs to meet the educational needs of nursing services and the professional development of nursing staff.
- Works collaboratively with the Cancer Services Leadership Team, and KSC Clinical Education as needed, to develop onboarding materials, training schedules, competency assessments, and continuing education curricula for nurses in the Hematology/Oncology and Infusion departments.
