Can Press Operator 1- 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Can Press Operator is responsible for the safe operation, housekeeping, and barcode labeling of manual and semi-automated metal stamping equipment. The role involves routine assignments requiring limited judgment, with little or no decision-making responsibility. The employee learns job skills and company policies and procedures, performs assigned duties, and may be asked by management to take on other related tasks. The operator must follow quality and safety requirements, wear required PPE, perform and record quality checks, and meet production rates while maintaining safety and quality.
Requirements
- High school education; little to no previous training is required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Exposure to or experience in manufacturing.
- Understanding of quality, PPE requirements, and workplace safety, including the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand production schedules, production orders, and instructions.
- Ability to operate production machinery safely.
- Ability to perform required quality checks and record results as appropriate.
- Ability to achieve or exceed demonstrated production rates while maintaining safety and quality.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Ability and willingness to remain flexible and work on multiple machines during the shift.
- Ability to wear required PPE at all times.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate manual and semi-automated metal stamping equipment.
- Perform housekeeping and barcode labeling for the equipment and production work.
- Read and follow production schedules, production orders, and instructions.
- Perform required quality checks and record results as appropriate.
- Meet or exceed demonstrated production rates while maintaining safety and quality.
- Wear required PPE and comply with quality and safety policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a team and be willing to work on multiple machines during the shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
