Camshaft Technician I
About The Position
This role involves verifying polishing operations, ensuring part SKU numbers and quantities match their respective Manufacturing Orders, and conducting visual inspections of camshafts throughout the preparation process. The technician will accurately log part movements, machine the rear face of camshafts using a belt sander before washing, and ensure all camshafts are completely covered in Rust Preventative during the washing process. Additionally, the role requires assisting other Camshaft Department team members during downtime, maintaining positive working relationships with manufacturing personnel and staff to foster a positive workplace environment, and adhering to industry-standard safety procedures within the Camshaft department. The technician is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area and assisting with cleaning other areas during downtime, including other parts of the Camshaft Department and the Manufacturing Center. All other duties assigned by the direct manager are also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Dynamic, high-energy individual with a track record as an effective communicator and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Be able to lift up to 65 pounds

- Mechanical abilities preferred.
- Prior automotive knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities
- Verification of Polishing Op being completed.
- Verification that part SKU numbers and quantities match their relative Manufacturing Orders.
- Visual Inspection of all camshafts from start to finish of prep.
- Accurately log the movement of parts through the process.
- Machine the rear face of all camshafts prior to wash with a belt sander.
- Wash all camshafts making sure to completely cover in Rust Preventative.
- Aids other Camshaft Dept team members with tasks throughout the day during downtime.
- Maintains positive working relationship with manufacturing personnel and other staff members to support a positive workplace environment.
- Responsible for withholding industry standard safety procedures throughout the Camshaft department.
- Keeps work area well cleaned and safe for other individuals.
- Keeps other work areas well cleaned during downtime, including other areas of the Camshaft department along with other areas of the Manufacturing Center.
- Performs and executes all other duties assigned by direct manager.
