About The Position

This 10-week internship program, (June 7, 2027-August 13, 2027), offers a set hourly rate of $35.00 an hour and a potential pathway to full-time opportunities with Fannie Mae. This position has multiple openings and will be based in our Washington, D.C. (Midtown Center) office. As an intern on our Treasury & Capital Markets team, you will work alongside market professionals on the Fannie Mae Market Room trading floor and gain hands-on exposure to the mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and broader mortgage-related fixed-income markets. Interns in the Business & Markets Track will be placed directly within market-facing lines of business. This track is designed for students interested in capital markets transactions, trading and liquidity, market strategy, business operations, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Management, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience analyzing information and preparing clear reports, presentations, or recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Supporting capital markets transactions, trading activities, securitization processes, and other market-facing business activities
  • Monitoring market conditions, analyzing trends, and preparing timely market commentary, presentations, and business updates
  • Working with markets, transactions, risk, operations, and technology partners to support business priorities
  • Assisting with reporting, risk monitoring, controls, process improvement, and other time-sensitive team deliverables
  • Organizing and interpreting financial and operational information to support decisions and communicate insights to business partners
