About The Position

The Campus Supervisor assists in the overall supervision and monitoring of non-classroom areas during the school day to maintain a safe, orderly, and positive campus environment. This role actively supports student well-being, enforces school and parking regulations, and promotes positive interactions throughout the school community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Good character, personal integrity, and a strong desire to work with high school students.
  • District rules, campus guidelines, and behavior policies.
  • Basic emergency response procedures, campus safety protocols, and incident reporting routines.
  • Strong supervisory and observational skills in both structured and unstructured environments.
  • Effective, calm, and professional communication skills with teenagers, colleagues, and administration.
  • Ability to de-escalate minor conflicts and exercise sound judgment in firmness, fairness, and consistency.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability when responding to daily tasks or dynamic school emergencies.
  • Mobility and stamina to work in indoor and outdoor high school settings; ability to stand, walk, crouch, and traverse large campus areas for extended periods; strength to lift or move objects up to 20 pounds; visual acuity to monitor large groups of students and inspect parking areas; clear auditory and verbal communication skills for loud or outdoor environments; and mental alertness to supervise student behavior, apply conflict resolution, and react quickly to campus safety needs.

  • Previous experience in student supervision, campus security, or a comparable youth-focused role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor student behavior in non-classroom areas, including hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, media centers, and general school grounds to maintain a safe, respectful environment.
  • Oversee parking lot operations, including issuing permanent and temporary parking permits for staff and students, monitoring parking compliance/permit display, and reporting hazardous or careless vehicle operation.
  • Enforce school rules, conduct expectations, and campus safety protocols during school hours and transition periods.
  • Assist in conflict resolution and address behavioral issues directly; contact parents/guardians regarding student behavior when appropriate or directed.
  • Serve as substitute supervisor designated non-instructional areas as needed.
  • Monitor campus entry/exit points and student movement to ensure campus security.
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, property damage, or emergency situations promptly to administration or designated supervisors.
  • Promote positive interactions, teamwork, and professional communication with students, staff, administrators, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or designated representative.
