About The Position

The job of Campus Supervisor is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for the safety and welfare of students during classroom and non-classroom activities; monitoring personnel and/or visitors; communicating information in response to inquiries; minimizing the frequency and severity of harmful incidents: and communicating observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well being of students, school personnel and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of such information and the potential consequences of violation.
  • Covers entire building, interior and exterior for the purpose of providing a safe and positive environment.
  • Escorts students, assigned personnel and/or visitors for the purpose of providing direction and ensuring their safety while on campus.
  • Intervenes in potential conflicts and emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of campus activities and/or injury to involved parties.
  • Monitors student behavior while on campus; parking lots; entry doors for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and secure facility.
  • Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of being effective, efficient, competent and ready to respond to any issue or emergency.
  • Patrols campus facilities, grounds and adjacent areas during and between assigned periods and at student events for the purpose of monitoring student, staff and visitor compliance with established guidelines to maintaining a safe and positive learning environment and secure facility.
  • Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Provides traffic and parking control; student mentoring and support; administration/staff support for the purpose of maintaining efficient traffic flow and use of parking lots; maintaining a sense of security and calm in the building; provide guidance to students and staff.
  • Refers incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. to appropriate site personnel for the purpose of taking preliminary precautions and ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security, and student safety guidelines.
  • Responds to a variety of situations and incidents for the purpose of taking the appropriate action to resolve immediate safety and/or security concerns with referral to appropriate site personal with related information or direction for follow-up actions as may be required in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources regarding campus safety and security issues for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or referral to appropriate source for addressing inquiry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
