About The Position

The Store Associate supports the daily operations of the campus store by delivering excellent customer service and ensuring an organized, welcoming retail environment. This position is responsible for assisting customers, processing transactions, maintaining product displays, and helping with inventory and store upkeep. The Store Associate also contributes to operational tasks such as opening/closing procedures, stocking merchandise, and supporting the training of student workers. This role is essential in ensuring that customers receive friendly, efficient service and that store operations run smoothly.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Combination of education and work experience; prefer customer service experience.
  • Proficient in operating a computer, cash register, money handling, and customer service.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process payment transactions and assist customers with product selections and inquiries.
  • Answer phone calls professionally and provide information to customers.
  • Greet and assist customers with friendly and helpful service.
  • Restock, move, and pack books, clothing, and supplies efficiently.
  • Open and close the store by balancing registers, ensuring the store is well-stocked, and implementing safety protocols.
  • Stock and arrange products, take inventory, and place orders as needed.
  • Perform light custodial tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, taking out trash, and tidying spaces.
  • Assist in training student workers.
  • Operate a cash register, calculator, and computer proficiently.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
