Campus Security Officer | Part-Time
About The Position
Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable part-time Campus Safety Officer (CSO) to support a school campus in the Culver City area. This position follows a schedule of Monday: 2 PM–6 PM, Tuesday: 7 AM–6 PM, Wednesday: 2 PM–6 PM, Thursday: 2 PM–6 PM, and Friday: 2 PM–6 PM, with some weekends or longer shift days when the school has rentals or events. This role goes beyond traditional security — Campus Safety Officers are trusted members of the school community who help foster a safe, positive, and supportive campus environment. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, approachable, observant, and comfortable working with students, staff, and families on a daily basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have an active Guard Card
- Must have an active CPR certificate
- Customer service experience required
- Read and write English fluently
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 6-months of security experience preferred
- Experience working with children or students preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors
- Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus
- Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns
- Monitor student behavior and help enforce school policies and procedures
- Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities
- Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access
- Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity
- Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested
- Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information
- Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured
- Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement
