College security officers is a non-sworn position that assists College Police to ensure the safety of students, staff, and property through regular foot/vehicle/bike patrols, building access control, and incident response. This department is a 24/7 operation with staffing on all three shifts. Responsibilities include enforcing safety regulations, providing 24/7 security escorts, building lockouts and lockups, parking enforcement, preparing incident reports, reporting safety concerns and providing customer service. Will utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) to properly log calls. May need to use the college’s mass notification RAVE system. This position is an entry point to pursuing a career in law enforcement/campus safety at Smith College. This is a casual, non-benefitted position. Pay for this role is typically between $21.23-$25.94 hourly covering the middle half of market compensation. Actual compensation will vary based on individual qualifications.
