About The Position

The part-time Campus Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) property, staff, faculty, students, and visitors. The goal of the Campus Safety staff is to make certain that the campus is a safe, friendly, and orderly environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of the CEI vision and mission
Ability to interpret CEI policies and procedures
Demonstrated organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain accurate, current, and coherent logs
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet resources, security cameras, and other equipment routinely used by security personnel
Must possess a valid driver's license to operate CEI vehicles
Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently, CEI doesn’t sponsor Visas)

Nice To Haves

Experience in security, law enforcement, or military
Experience in a college/university public safety/security department
Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

Maintains accurate records of criminal incidents, accidents, security concerns, and vehicle registration
Assists with investigations involving security-related matters
Performs general maintenance of all equipment for the campus security department
Enforces CEI parking and traffic regulation
Patrols college property, including the parking areas, grounds, and buildings
Ensures that areas are free from safety hazards and that buildings are locked or unlocked as required
Maintains daily crime logs
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
