About The Position

Anderson University’s Department of Campus Safety invites applications for a full-time Campus Safety Officer. This position is scheduled in 12-hour shifts that includes a weekend rotation. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Under the supervision of the Lieutenant and Assistant Director of Campus Safety, candidates should be prepared to perform duties to ensure the safety and security of students, employees and guests on the Anderson University campus while upholding the university’s vision, mission and values. Candidates should also be prepared to patrol campus on foot and by vehicle to maintain positive presence on campus with the objective to be helpful, responsive, and service-oriented.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communications skills with a focus on excellent customer service
• Ability to effectively multitask and communicate clearly under pressure
• Working knowledge of computer systems
• Must acquire and maintain SLED security officer certification
• Proficient comprehension of written and verbal instructions is essential

Responsibilities

• Performing routine patrols
• Parking management
• Responding to emergencies
• Maintaining detailed logs and reports
• Locking/unlocking buildings
• Providing assistance to the campus community
• Patrol campus on foot and by vehicle to maintain positive presence on campus with the objective to be helpful, responsive, and service-oriented
