About The Position

To patrol and monitor an assigned school campus for the purpose of building positive relationships with students and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

Requirements

Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and/or experience working with junior high/middle school or high school age youth.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification issued by an authorized agency.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a K12 public school setting preferred.
Bilingual ability in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Administers first aid in emergency situations for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs within established guidelines.
Greets and assists individuals (examples: visitors, parents, students, vendors, staff, teachers, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries and/or directing individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with established building security procedures.
Verifies identity of visitors for the purpose of maintaining a secure school environment and restricting access to the site and/or students to authorized persons within established guidelines.
Monitor and support an assigned campus for the purpose of providing administrative visibility, maintaining security, and deterring crime; unlock doors and other entry points; respond to disturbances, behavior problems and related situations.
Monitor lunch or break areas, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms and parking lots; escort students to the office; write referrals according to established guidelines and site practices; report unusual activities or unauthorized persons on campus to appropriate school staff.
Monitors student behavior for the purpose of enforcing school safety and security and ensuring student compliance with established guidelines.
Assist in the investigation of school rule violations; cooperate with law enforcement personnel as necessary.
Monitor unattended classrooms during the temporary absence of a certificated teacher or administrator.
Oversee a suspension or intervention center as directed.
Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
Perform related duties as assigned.
