About The Position

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students is a multifaceted special education program, designed specifically for students with emotional disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities or other educational challenges. Austin Centers currently serves over a thousand students per year from more than 100 school districts and charter schools on all our campuses. As a Receptionist at the ACES, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient front office environment. You will be the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and support. The ideal candidate will possess great organizational skills, have excellent communication skills, and have a passion for supporting individuals with special needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Efficient organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to identity and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing processes successfully.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of the unique needs of individuals with special needs.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome visitors, parents, and students with warmth and professionalism.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area.
  • Assist with student check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate attendance records.
  • Provide information and assistance to parents regarding school policies, programs, and events.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to address any language-related concerns.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Keep up with office supply inventory.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences for school staff.
  • Support the coordination of special events and activities.
