About The Position

The campus provost serves as the chief administrative officer of the campus(es) and centers assigned. Collin College operates as a single college with multiple campuses and centers that comprise the entire institution. Provosts report to the senior vice president of campus operations and are members of the President’s Executive Leadership Team. The campus provost is a results-oriented, collaborative leader responsible for all aspects of campus operations, including student access, student success, campus culture, academic programming, advancement, and community engagement. This position provides strategic leadership and oversight for the iCollin Virtual Campus and is an on-site role located at the Collin Higher Education Center in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • Conferred Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience as a higher education executive administrator with progressive employment growth.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing large-scale online academic operations within a higher education institution.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the college’s Executive Leadership Team responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the college's strategic and master plans to accomplish the college's mission.
  • Vigorously support a cohesive campus culture that reflects a passion for the district’s core values, adheres to the mission to provide a welcoming environment and opportunities for all stakeholders to include students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Actively promote academic excellence, creativity, leadership, cooperation, teamwork, and accountability throughout the assigned campus.
  • Facilitate operational consistency to meet districtwide standards while maintaining the unique campus culture. Communicate and collaborate with other campus provosts and college deans to ensure consistent practices across the district.
  • Provide engaged leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating face-to-face, evening, weekend, and online programs and services of the assigned campus. Recommend the development and implementation of new programs and services that support the college's strategic plan and improvement of student learning outcomes utilizing data-informed decisions.
  • Provide leadership for the deans, associate deans, directors, and faculty in the assigned divisions, including oversight of student learning outcomes and student success, campus and district initiatives, and committees and events, as applicable. Supervise the deans, executive directors of the Library, Information Center, and other assigned facilities/personnel for the respective campus. Provide training, mentoring, and monitor progress in the development of knowledge and skills related to the job of deans and directors.
  • Provide performance feedback during the annual review process for the dean of student and enrollment services, campus technology manager, campus facilities, and campus police leadership on campus.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate academic, workforce, and continuing education strategies that are consistent with the college’s strategic goals, the needs of the service area, and the campus.
  • Collaborate with the senior vice president of student and community engagement to provide leadership for student and enrollment services, residential life (housing), and activities on the assigned campus. Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for the dean of student and enrollment services of the assigned campus in support of integrated pathways and completion of individual educational goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the vice president of academic operations to provide leadership to the P-12 (Dual Credit) operations under the campus’s purview, districtwide scheduling to enhance student completions through strategic course scheduling and enhance districtwide operations of continuing education with a campus emphasis.
  • Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Office to ensure that staffing, compensation, benefits administration, and employee relations needs are met for campus faculty and staff.
  • Develop, recommend, and manage the assigned budgets to ensure available dollars are effectively utilized to deliver prioritized services for the respective campus. Prepare the annual budget for the assigned campus, providing leadership in the development of yearly budgets for the campus Student and Enrollment Services, as well as the Facilities Department, to align with the campus’ needs. Work collaboratively with the campus technology manager to develop campus technology needs, priorities, and planning to ensure campus IT needs are being met.
  • Work closely with college departments, campus police, and emergency management personnel for the respective campus to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. Serve as the primary campus contact responsible for coordinating with emergency response teams and security personnel to address emergency situations that may occur on campus, including weather emergencies, campus disturbances, environmental hazards, medical emergencies, natural disasters, biological disasters, man-made disasters, etc. Create, implement, and oversee the campus contingency and disaster recovery plans in coordination with the Emergency Management Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the vice president of facilities and construction to ensure that all aspects of master planning, renewal and replacement budget process, daily facilities operations, construction and renovation, and project management related to the assigned campus are prioritized and executed to assure a safe and comfortable educational and working environment for Collin College students, faculty, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior vice president of campus operations and chief of staff to build strong alliances among business, Economic Development Corporations, Chambers of Commerce, Independent School Districts, Institutions of Higher Education, and community and city governmental leaders to provide college updates, engage in problem-solving and leverage available resources to support solutions.
  • Facilitate timely, professional communication and problem resolution strategies with internal and external groups related to the assigned campus. Inform and advise the senior vice president of campus operations on issues of concern.
  • Collaborate with the senior vice president of student and community engagement, to develop marketing strategies to promote assigned campuses and programs.
  • Represent the district by attending related state and national conferences and meetings.
  • Collaborate with the vice president of academic affairs to comply with college policies, procedures, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules and regulations, program-level accreditation, SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation, and other compliance-related activities in areas of responsibility.
  • Work closely with Conference Services and campus food service operations to review and approve campus and community events. Evaluate requests and confer with appropriate leadership as needed to assess and address any concerns. Ensure the request aligns with the master and strategic plans.
  • Provide leadership for major campus signature events, political and governmental visitors, designated voting dates and other major community events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
