About The Position

Community Church has partnered with the Slingshot Group to fill this position. The role of Campus Pastor (CP) is to oversee the life and ministry of the St. Johns Campus under the direction and leadership of the Lead Pastor (LP). This requires a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, and strategy of Community Church and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission, vision, and values. The CP will offer pastoral leadership to the campus and ensure the systems, practices and policies of the church responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities.

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent people management skills with staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in ministry in a medium to large church setting.
  • An engaging communicator with a strong biblical and theological background.
  • A self-motivated leader possessing relational skills with staff, volunteers, and congregation.
  • Proven track record of developing and multiplying leaders within a ministry context.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets).
  • Proficient with database software (Community Church to provide training).

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling Biblical Priorities: Lead by example in spiritual maturity, character, and lifestyle. Reflect the heart of Jesus in relationships, leadership, and daily choices. Commit to a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ through regular time in scripture, prayer, and worship. Actively participate in the life and mission of Community Church. Demonstrate a passion for reaching people far from God and inviting them into a disciple-making process. Champion unity across all ministries and teams, avoiding gossip, and responding to challenges with grace and reconciliation. Adhere to Community Church employee requirements.
  • Strategic Leadership and Planning: Champion Community Church’s mission, vision, and values at the campus. Assist the LP and Executive Team in strategic planning and staff coordination. Lead the campus towards accomplishing goals and action plans. Implement intentional staff meetings. Monitor and report the pulse of the congregation through research and evaluation of attendance, giving, groups participation, baptisms, volunteer engagement, community impact, etc. Work with the Executive Pastor (XP) to ensure staffing, facilities, and programs are aligned with strategic goals. Manage campus budget and provide campus-level oversight to financial functions.
  • Core Competencies: Care for and engage the congregation at the local campus. Develop strong relational connections with congregants. Communicate and champion the mission, values, and DNA of Community Church. Provide leadership to weekend worship experiences and weekly ministry. Fulfill other pastoral duties (weddings, funerals, baptisms, child dedication, counseling, visitation, etc).
  • Leader Recruitment and Development: Build healthy, capable teams by identifying, equipping, and empowering staff and volunteers. Invest in the growth and development of existing staff. Prioritize future staffing needs. Supervise the campus staff team. Empower staff and volunteer leaders. Develop a leadership pipeline for recruiting, onboarding, and training volunteers. Provide coaching to staff in coordination with Ministry Directors. Foster a culture that values spiritual growth, relational health, and competency development.
  • Ministry Administration: Oversee the organization and stewardship of campus resources (financial and physical). Manage administrative systems that support the local campus. Develop and recommend a campus budget to the XP and Board of Trustees and manage the approved budget. Maintain familiarity with systems like Church Community Builder and Planning Center Online. Ensure campus staff and volunteers adhere to administration systems.
