About The Position

Vote Blue is a field firm specializing in face-to-face canvassing operations, focused on mobilizing voters to participate in elections. The organization's campaigns have been instrumental in close elections at various levels. Vote Blue's current objective is to mobilize and engage voters in the upcoming fall elections to counter political actions perceived as harmful to rights and economic well-being. This role is for a full-time Campus Organizer to begin by the end of August and continue through mid-November, with locations at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and Michigan State in East Lansing.

  • Data Management and Evaluation Experience: Experience working with various data management systems and tools, mainly Google Suite.
  • Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: VAN, Action Network, ThruText, MailChimp, eCRMs like EveryAction, or social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or Evaluation.
  • Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of 6-8 hourly campus fellows to register voters.
  • Call and text supporters to recruit them into grassroots actions.
  • Identify new supporters and volunteers through petitioning, flyering, and in-field recruitment.
  • Run grassroots skills trainings for volunteers.
  • Maintain a meticulous track of the volunteer list.
  • Develop volunteer leaders to help lead the student organization.
  • Represent the campaign in community spaces and events, engaging with coalition and partner organizations.
  • Collect pledge cards.
  • Recruit and train volunteers to generate more petitions and volunteer engagement at events.
  • Recruit and engage with community leaders, organizational partners, and VIPs.
  • Organize and execute high-visibility in-person events demonstrating support for climate action.
  • Educate community members about protecting climate, wildlife, lands, and vulnerable communities.
  • Ensure all messaging and legal requirements are met by oneself and volunteers.
  • Recruit volunteers to post on their social media platforms.
  • Send email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities.
  • Track all interactions with detailed notes for daily reporting and weekly reports on campaign results.
