Under the direction of the Program Director, Site Supervisor and / or Assistant Site Supervisor, the Campus Monitor will assist in maintaining the security and safety of actively participating students, campus and staff during the program operation. They will be responsible for visually observing student behavior, checking that all gates and doors are locked, reporting disturbances, monitoring campus buildings and grounds for outsiders, reporting students in hallways, maintaining a daily log of suspicious activities, physically patrolling buildings and grounds, determining the reason for outsiders' presence, questioning students not in classrooms, monitoring parking lots and gathering areas, reporting safety or security problems, participating in training, reviewing current developments, and ensuring adherence to safety rules and procedures. The Campus Monitor must also follow federal and state laws and School Board policies, carry a walkie-talkie at all times, and not use personal cell phones or cellular headpieces while on duty. They are responsible for completing the gate safety check log daily and ensuring all individuals on campus have a current badge, escorting those without badges to the single point of entry. Campus monitors must report to the Program Director/Site Supervisor before and after their shift, be responsible for assigned school board items, store them in a locked area daily, and adhere to assigned hours without exceeding the weekly limit. The role involves 90% of schedule on the desk, with 50% hands-on execution of protocols and performance metrics, 40% customer service, and 10% administrative duties.
