About The Position
The Campus Monitor will provide assistance to students traveling throughout the building and alert teachers/administration of any concerns. This role involves supervising various areas of the school, conducting security checks, and interacting with students, staff, and parents.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one year of successful work experience in building security or a related field.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of adolescent behavior.
- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to take charge in emergency situations.
- Ability to make decisions within guidelines provided.
Responsibilities
- Provides supervision of parking lots, cross walks, and bus lanes during high traffic times.
- Monitors hallways, stairwells, locker banks, and all other areas of the building.
- Conducts security checks throughout and around the perimeter of the building.
- Works as a team member with teachers and administration.
- Interacts effectively and appropriately with students, teachers, and parents.
- Provides assistance with emergencies or problem times.
- Provides corrective feedback to students.
- Documents negatives and positives in detail.
- Alerts the teachers to special needs of students.
- Provides an appropriate role model for students.
- Maintains confidentiality on sensitive information.
- Other duties as assigned.
