About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the building Principal, the Campus Monitor assists in maintaining an orderly and safe atmosphere in the school in accordance with Board policy and established district procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries and expectations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to monitor and supervise students while promoting a safe, orderly, and respectful school environment.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
• Must be able to communicate effectively through speaking with a variety of persons.
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone and enter data into a computer; read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; and hear and understand speech at cafeteria noise levels and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

• associate's degree or higher preferred
• Successful prior experience working with adolescents in a school, recreation, youth services, or related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising students in the hallway.
• Assists in maintaining clean and orderly hallways.
• Ensures that students move in an orderly fashion between classes.
• Circulates in the hallway to be available as needed.
• Assists students at arrival and dismissal, both inside and outside of the building.
• Reports to teachers, staff, and the principal, as appropriate, regarding infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues involving students.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
