About The Position

The Campus Ministry Coordinator serves as the primary operational leader responsible for translating the Chaplain’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic objectives into integrated, school-wide initiatives. This role ensures that Campus Ministry is not siloed but is intentionally woven into the core functions of the school: academics, athletics, and student life. The position is hired and evaluated by the Principal in conjunction with the Chaplain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or other area reflecting essential job duties and responsibilities with five years of demonstrated experience.
  • Catholic in good standing.
  • A solid knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Church and its teachings and cultures is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze programs and the needs of the participants and draw conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to self-motivate, manage tasks and work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with staff and volunteers.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays on an as needed basis.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills consistent with the Diocesan Safe Environment Program when working amongst both adults and children.
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

Responsibilities

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
  • Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
  • Abides by the Confidentiality Policy set forth in the Diocese Employee Handbook
  • Partner closely with the Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry to receive and internalize the annual vision, mission, and priority objectives for Campus Ministry.
  • Integrate Campus Ministry goals and spiritual formation initiatives into academics, athletics, and student life programs.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Principal on matters involving athletics and broader school alignment.
  • Work in close partnership with the Director of Student Life and Athletics to coordinate schedules, events, and initiatives that blend faith formation with student activities and athletic programs.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Campus Ministry and department heads, faculty, coaches, and student life staff to ensure ministry objectives are understood and supported across the campus.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Annual Campus Ministry Plan that aligns with the Director’s vision and school calendar.
  • Create detailed Quarterly Action Plans and Monthly Execution Plans with specific objectives, timelines, responsible parties, and success metrics.
  • Design and implement school-wide faith formation programs, including retreats, service projects, liturgical celebrations, prayer experiences, and sacramental preparation that integrate with academic, athletic, and student life calendars.
  • Identify opportunities to embed Catholic identity and Gospel values into existing school activities (e.g., team chapels, classroom prayer, service-learning components, student leadership formation).
  • Effectively communicate the Campus Ministry vision, plans, and activities to internal stakeholders (faculty, staff, administration, students) through meetings, newsletters, presentations, and digital platforms.
  • Develop and execute external communication strategies to engage parents, alumni, parishioners, and the broader Catholic community about Campus Ministry initiatives and their impact.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for the Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry, Principal, and school leadership on the implementation and outcomes of ministry plans.
  • Promote a culture of transparency and enthusiasm around the school’s Catholic mission.
  • Oversee the day-to-day coordination and logistics of Campus Ministry programs and events.
  • Recruit, train, and support ministry volunteers, student leaders, and faculty/staff collaborators.
  • Manage Campus Ministry budget allocations in alignment with the Director’s guidance.
  • Ensure all programming is consistent with Catholic teaching, the school’s mission statement, and Diocesan guidelines.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of ministry initiatives using both qualitative and quantitative measures.
  • Support the Chaplain in the preparation and execution of major liturgical celebrations and school-wide spiritual events.
  • Stay current with best practices in Catholic youth ministry, adolescent faith development, and Catholic education.
  • Represent Campus Ministry at school events, athletic competitions, and community functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry and the Principal.
