About The Position

The Campus MD Lead serves as a servant leader who cultivates worship experiences that move our church toward engagement and the presence of God, leading with musical excellence, spiritual depth, and team unity. This part-time role (15 hours per week) includes Sunday services, Wednesday rehearsals, and weekly preparation and communication with central worship leadership. The Campus MD Lead serves under the Worship Director and collaborates closely with the Campus Pastor to lead the worship team at Liquid Church’s Garwood Campus.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of music theory, harmony, and the theology of Worship.
  • High level of musical proficiency, preferred instrumentalist (guitar or piano).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on a Worship Team at a church of 500 or more.
  • Available Sundays from setup to teardown & Evening rehearsals on Wednesdays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to speak on stage.
  • A “people” person who works well with Staff and volunteers of varying personality types.
  • Models humility and calm under pressure, inspires confidence in others, and maintains an optimistic, faith-filled attitude.

  • Leadership of a Worship Team preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Music Director for all weekend worship experiences.
  • Lead soundcheck and rehearsals with clarity, confidence, encouragement, and prayer.
  • Prepare arrangements, transitions, and musical moments that support congregational worship.
  • Lead soundcheck and pre-service rehearsal with prayer and clarity.
  • Carry the spiritual tone of the team, encourage volunteers, pray with them, and build a sense of community.
  • Complete the post-service Sunday survey to provide feedback.
  • Lead rehearsals that are organized, efficient, and spiritually encouraging.
  • Coach musicians and vocalists toward excellence, confidence, musicianship, and unity.
  • Partner with Liquid Church’s Worship Director to craft and lead dynamic worship sets.
  • Help build chemistry, confidence, and unity within the volunteer team.
  • Attend Tuesday meetings (twice per month).
  • Keep weekly open communication with the Worship Director & Campus Pastor.
  • Manage the Planning Center schedule for the worship team with guidance from the Worship Director.
  • Communicate with the weekly worship team on songs and parts.
  • Prepare and manage the weekly MultiTracks Playback session provided by Central Worship.
  • Ensure the worship team is prepared and organized each week.
