About The Position

The Washington DC Campus Manager provides leadership, management, and supervision of all day-to-day operations of Pepperdine’s Washington DC campus. Ensuring world-class operations and hospitality, this position is responsible for providing exquisite service to the faculty, staff, students, and guests who utilize the campus. The breadth of responsibility includes oversight of: the campuses’ facilities, security, and property management; space scheduling and configuration; coordination with academic programs; revenue-generating opportunities with external guests; customer experience of all who utilize the campus; coordination of campus events; emergency response; and vendor management. The Washington DC Campus Manager is in the Chief Operating Officer (COO) division and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Business Services Administration. Because the direct supervisor for this role is located in another state and the position does not maintain any direct reports, the ideal candidate must be highly self-driven and independent, with a proven ability to manage day-to-day campus operations autonomously. As a member of the COO division, the Washington DC Campus Manager supports the entire COO division and helps meet department goals and priorities through collaboration, initiative, and follow-through. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of professional or educational experience in related fields or faith-based higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage campus operations: develop, implement and continuously improve processes and procedures to ensure a safe and functional campus environment that supports the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values.
  • Evaluate operational needs, establish priorities, and make decisions regarding campus resources, facilities, safety, and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable University policies and operational standards while identifying and resolving complex campus issues.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for campus emergencies and coordinate responses to urgent facility, security, and operational matters, including those arising outside of standard business hours.
  • Direct and oversee campus facilities operations through the management of vendor, contractor, and service-provider relationships.
  • Evaluate service needs, selecting and recommending vendors, negotiating and administering service agreements, monitoring performance, and resolving operational issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain campus facilities and services, including property management, custodial, security, catering, janitorial, HVAC, and other contracted services.
  • Conduct facility assessments, establish service priorities, and make recommendations regarding maintenance, operational improvements, and resource allocation to support campus objectives.
  • Plan and manage scheduling for the campus using the University's 25Live scheduling platform.
  • Partner and collaborate with deans, faculty, staff, and students to facilitate classroom, office, and event space scheduling and configuration.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the campus.
  • Act as a resource and advisor to hosting departments on campus logistics, including room set up, IT/AV, security, parking and overall University coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
