Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary engineering contact for building-system projects, from scoping and design through construction and closeout.
  • Review mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls plans, specifications, and submittals for compliance with campus standards, codes, maintainability, and energy-efficiency goals; coordinate input from trades staff.
  • Develop and update campus construction standards and building-system specifications with the Campus Architect.
  • Coordinate with the Energy Manager to incorporate energy, metering, and utility requirements into project design and specifications.
  • Propose capital MEP projects and provide engineering support through development, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage the technical work of engineering consultants and coordinate with Facilities and Project Management teams.
  • Lead commissioning for new construction and major renovations, including reviewing plans, witnessing functional testing, and verifying complete documentation, as-built drawings, and staff training at turnover.
