About The Position

Ebenezer is looking for a Campus Director of Nutrition to join our team! This role is responsible for the coordination of the Food & Nutrition Services Department. Responsibilities include overseeing all dining services and ensuring that meals are prepared and presented in accordance with regulations. Responsible for all staff within the department in our Skilled Nursing facility in Bloomington, Minnesota. This position includes: 80 hours per two weeks Day shift Weekends as needed Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Requirements

  • Two Years experience
  • Ability to use technology in the form of computer data entry and ability to navigate designated software program as well as hand held devices, work cell phones, printers and copy machines.
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (must be issued by the State of Minnesota for locations in the state of MN)
  • Certified Dietary Manager or Have similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body or Have an associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning or Has 2 or more years of experience in the position of director of food and nutrition services in a nursing facility setting and has completed a course of study in food safety and management, by no later than October 1, 2023, that includes topics integral to managing dietary operations including, but not limited to, foodborne illness, sanitation procedures, and food purchasing/receiving and Certified Dietary Manager Upon hire must be enrolled in (if has not completed already) a dietary manager course. Must become a Certified Dietary Manager within 1 1/2 years of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Makes substitutions and revisions as needed to accommodate special diets (ensure all changes are signed off by Registered Dietician).
  • Solicits ideas from residents (via Resident Council) and staff.
  • Listens to concerns and responds professionally and appropriately.
  • Budget planning, record keeping and billing.
  • Understands the budget process as it relates to the department.
  • Maintains necessary records to determine staffing levels and financial requirements for the next year.
  • Plans and administers department budget with the Administrator.
  • Bills other departments and visitors as deemed appropriate.
  • Maintain records on meal census, menus and food costs.
  • Send corporate monthly reports.
  • Submits bills for payment using proper codes and enters them into accounts payable for budget tracking.
  • Assures credits are received.
  • Ability to process payroll electronically.
  • Update and maintain expense trackers.
  • Ability to plan direct and problem solve activities of the department.
  • Establishes departmental regulations and procedures in conformance with government regulations and company standards for organization of supervision of nutrition services.
  • Inspects work habits, storage and serving areas to determine that optimal sanitation practices and direction governing nutrition services are followed.
  • Meets emergency needs when there is a lack of food, staff or natural resources.
  • Review and continually update department policy and procedures in compliance with Ebenezer guidelines.
  • Establish yearly departmental goals and approaches.
  • Establish effective relationships with other managers and their staff and other resident centered services to provide optimal resident care.
  • Assist with coordination/planning/implementing interdepartmental activities such as Therapeutic Recreation, Resident Council, Holiday meals, outings such as picnics and other special events.
  • Audits serving areas, kitchen, kitchenettes, dining rooms and dish rooms for sanitation & regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures storage areas are maintained appropriately.
  • Adds & updates Material Safety Data Sheets as needed
  • Submits food orders/oversees the food order process as needed.
  • Ability to exercise supervisory responsibility over subordinates.
  • Interview and makes final decisions on whether to hire job applicants for the department.
