Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years of highly successful experience in campus leadership roles.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively lead faculty and staff in a doctoral degree-granting university.
  • Experience with computerized administrative systems, including Microsoft.
  • Skilled in the use of Excel.
  • Proficient with the use of data to direct self and others.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accreditation criteria, state agency regulations, academic journals, business reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints, with guidance from others as appropriate, from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, corporate leaders, public groups, and boards of directors or trustees as applicable.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to travel out of the campus area to participate in a variety of conferences and meetings.
  • Frequent travel will be needed related to outreach and awareness activities, or in the development of community partnerships.
  • Regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office or school, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds unless otherwise specified in the job description.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a full-time campus director or president role.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the academic quality, operational effectiveness, staff development, student retention, improvement and enrollment growth of the campus.
  • Accountable for quality professional education for student and graduate success by leading the overall budget and educational functions of the campus.
  • Lead the campus in creating a student-centered learning environment, and a campus culture of professionalism, teamwork, inclusiveness and respect among students, faculty and staff.
  • Achieve the key outcomes of the campus through shared supervision of campus EC leaders and program directors and collaboration with Vice Chancellors (VCs), AVCs and academic leaders.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance with a focus on advancing educational quality, access, and student success.
  • Build enrollment, outreach efforts, and deliver instructional and support services that meet the needs of students and communities served by the University.
  • Support and collaborate with the College Deans and other academic leaders in the areas of programmatic accreditation, curriculum modifications, assessment and academic policy.
  • Assure that all faculty and program directors are appropriately supervised, developed and evaluated.
  • Review and act using data, including course surveys, faculty performance evaluations, course and academic program enrollment metrics, and student satisfaction indicators.
  • Monitor reports, systems, policies, and procedures in order to ensure consistent and effective delivery of all academic programs and maximize enrollment and retention.
  • Effectively use data to make decisions and direct the activity of self and others.
  • Lead student retention improvement initiatives for each campus program achieving year-over-year improvement each year.
  • Ensure an effective at-risk student monitoring and outreach system, quality academic and nonacademic support services, and a commitment to student success among faculty and staff.
  • Ensure strong human resources management through hiring, developing, leading and evaluating an effective management team, staff, and faculty.
  • Manage campus succession plan and professional development program.
  • Demonstrate an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to campus improvement.
  • Lead, participate in and coordinate campus outreach activities that generate enrollment through partnerships and affiliation agreements with other organizations.
  • Maintain a desirable, attractive and safe campus environment.
  • Ensure facilities are well maintained.
  • Assess campus facility needs and ensure that the resources are planned for, acquired and properly implemented; provide input on utilization of resources.
  • Lead the campus in developing and maintaining strong relationships with alumni, community organizations, businesses and colleges/universities to maximize partnerships, fundraising, alumni placement, new student recruitment and externship opportunities.
  • Maintain campus compliance with University, State, Federal and Programmatic policies and procedures.
  • Play a role with program leaders in preparing the campus for self-studies, focus visits, and comprehensive visits.
  • Lead the campus in developing and nurturing relationships with regard to programmatic accreditation.
  • Support institutional planning and research and outcomes assessment activities for the campus.
  • Ensure discussion of research and outcomes at the campus, culminating in appropriate plans and actions.
  • Take an active leadership role in all departmental reviews conducted at the campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
