About The Position

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is seeking a Part-Time Campus Clinic Dentist. This role is classified as a supervisory position, focusing on supervising student activity within the clinic. The Clinic Dentist will be responsible for patient assessments, student assessments, and overseeing clinic operations as the overall health officer. While direct patient diagnosis or treatment is not part of the performance criteria, discussions regarding 'possible diagnosis and treatments' are required during student assessments. Requirements

  • Must be a licensed DDS in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Previous clinical experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience with dental software (Dentrix preferred).
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, blood pressure, and pre-medication requirements.
  • Give DDS consent to treat the patient.
  • Determine the need for medical consultation with medical providers.
  • Perform chairside assessments and grading of intraoral and extraoral tissue structures.
  • Chart existing restorations and suspicious lesions or possible pathology.
  • Supervise local anesthesia administration and observation.
  • Supervise Nitrous Oxide administration and observation.
  • Supervise laser use for periodontal bacterial reduction.
  • Conduct radiographic assessment and grading with students, including quality and radiographic landmarks and interpretation.
  • Provide DDS prescription and consent for radiograph exposure.
  • Supervise student activity within the clinic.
  • Act as the overall health officer of clinic operations.
