About The Position

Brenau University is seeking a Campus Assistant to assist with routine campus operations, support academic programs, and provide a secure working environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role involves interacting with students, faculty, and staff, managing classroom technology, maintaining campus order, and assisting with procedural matters related to student enrollment. The Campus Assistant will also be responsible for ensuring campus security and operational readiness during posted hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic knowledge of IT support functions
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Works well in a team environment and under pressure
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Moderate proficiency in Google based programs (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.)
  • Eligible to work in the United States on or before the confirmed start date (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or foreign national with work authorization not requiring employer sponsorship).
  • Must maintain eligibility throughout employment.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Subject to random criminal history background checks.

  • Additional education beyond High School Diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine campus operations, including greeting and assisting students, faculty, and staff.
  • Answer telephones professionally and courteously.
  • Assist professors with copying and clerical tasks.
  • Coordinate and set up classroom technology for faculty.
  • Assist faculty with the use of classroom technology and office equipment.
  • Assist other campus staff with work projects or assignments.
  • Check all computers in labs and student center to ensure they are turned off and workstations are neat at the end of each shift.
  • Return classrooms to their original setup and ensure the campus is neat and orderly at the end of each shift.
  • Replenish and stock supplies, such as refilling copiers with paper.
  • Ensure the campus is open for operation by posted hours and secure and closed upon posted hours.
  • Support academic programs by assisting students with procedural matters related to continued enrollment.
  • Answer student questions or direct them to the correct person or department.
  • Provide a secure working environment by checking classrooms and locking doors at the end of operating hours.
  • Ensure all entrance/exit doors are locked and set the alarm at the end of operating hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
