About The Position

The Campus Activities Coordinator supports the Director of Campus Activities in the planning, coordination, and assessment of a comprehensive campus activities program that promotes student engagement, leadership development, and a vibrant campus community. The coordinator serves as the primary resource for registered student organizations, providing guidance on organization management, leadership development, university policies, and event planning. This position coordinates programs that enhance student experience, fosters collaboration with campus and community partners. The coordinator is committed to creating meaningful co-curricular opportunities that support student success, retention, and a welcoming and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of sound, lighting and various audio-visual equipment
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Event planning
  • Extended periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds, including overhead lifting
  • Setup of furniture and equipment in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Occasional travel for meetings and training

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute student programming throughout the entire year.
  • Serves as the university’s resource person for all registered student organizations.
  • Provide leadership training for student organizations, student workers, and Campus Activities Board.
  • Advises membership programming, budgeting, problem solving, and interpretation of university policies for student organizations.
  • Assists departments, student organizations, and off-campus groups in reserving University facilities.
  • Maintains the student activities monthly calendar. Insures a strong promotion and timely advertisement for all activities.
  • General clerical work as necessary. Serves on University committees as required.
  • Serves on the homecoming committee as liaison to student organizations ensuring involvement in homecoming activities.
  • Serves as resource for students seeking information about organizations. Informs students at orientation about student organizations and distributes interest results to campus organizations.
  • Periodically updates lists of registered campus organizations and their advisors. Distributes organization lists to appropriate University offices.
  • Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the university.
