About The Position

The Maintenance Manager plays an important leadership role in keeping our Sundance campground safe, functional, and guest-ready year-round. This position oversees all aspects of property maintenance, including preventative maintenance planning, asset management, vendor coordination, budgeting, and day-to-day maintenance operations. Working closely with the General Manager and Operations Team, the Maintenance Manager helps ensure the property is well maintained, supports long-term improvements, and contributes to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or property operations (hospitality or outdoor accommodations preferred).
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle planning and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience with budgeting, CAPEX planning, and cost control.
  • Ability to manage vendors, contracts, and external service providers.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with maintenance software is an asset.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge with the ability to lead both strategically and operationally.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a 3–5 year capital maintenance plan, aligned with property growth and brand standards.
  • Identify, prioritize, and plan asset lifecycle replacements (tents, decks, structures, infrastructure, and equipment).
  • Analyze maintenance trends to recommend proactive upgrades vs. reactive repairs.
  • Support execution of the Sundance master development plan in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Participate in annual budgeting and CAPEX planning cycles.
  • Act as a key administrative partner to the General Manager, supporting operational planning and reporting.
  • Maintain a centralized maintenance tracking system (service logs, warranties, inspections, and repair history).
  • Prepare and submit monthly maintenance reports, including: Costs and budget tracking, Completed work, Outstanding issues, Upcoming priorities.
  • Monitor maintenance spending and assist with budget variance analysis.
  • Source, request, and evaluate vendor quotes, proposals, and service contracts.
  • Design, implement, and manage a structured preventative maintenance (PM) system.
  • Align maintenance schedules with seasonality and occupancy cycles.
  • Continuously audit and improve the PM program for efficiency, cost savings, and asset longevity.
  • Ensure all assets meet brand standards and guest expectations.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations across all campground assets.
  • Schedule and supervise third-party contractors, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensure all sites and facilities are safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times.
  • Respond to maintenance issues and guest concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support implementation of new systems, tools, and maintenance technologies.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide direction and support to campground staff on maintenance-related tasks.
  • Train team members on basic maintenance awareness and reporting procedures.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and preventative maintenance thinking.
  • Step into a leadership role during emergencies or high-demand operational periods.
  • Standardize and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for recurring maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Director of Facilities, and Operations Team to align priorities.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly maintenance and operations meetings.
  • Communicate proactively regarding risks, priorities, and resource needs.
