About The Position

Protect Our Winters (POW) is seeking a Campaigns Research Intern to support the Campaigns Team for 10-15 hours per week. This role will focus on federal legislative policy, coalition participation, and supporting POW’s get-out-the-vote campaign through research for a guidebook. While administrative tasks are involved, there are opportunities to contribute to long-term strategic campaigns. The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks, self-directed, and takes initiative.

Requirements

  • An exceptionally strong academic record.
  • Academic or internship experience in the environmental policy, advocacy, and/or climate change arena preferred.
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction in a remote setting.
  • An excitement to take on many different types of tasks and assignments.
  • Comfort with all standard software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Google Suite (Documents, Sheets, Slides).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating work related to POW’s stoke the vote tactics, including research and design, distribution of content, and building toolkits and training materials.
  • Supporting the Campaigns Team with administrative tasks such as invoice processing, travel logistics, presentation development, Salesforce data entry, and materials preparation.
  • Researching policy positions of candidates running for elected office (examining campaign websites, previous statements, voting records, etc.) on issues important to POW and its community.
  • Organizing research findings in an easily understandable and shareable format for the outdoor community.
