Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years' experience working with children in a camp or similar setting (day or overnight)
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Will be 18 years old within the calendar year of employment
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as per current YMCA HR policy
  • Participation in YMCA Healthy Child Development (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing needs in collaboration with the Leadership Team
  • Ensure program quality by integrating YMCA Healthy Child Development principles and delivering developmentally appropriate, strength‑based programming
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff through mentoring, guidance and discipline as needed
  • Support staff with camper behaviour concerns using Child Guidance Practices
  • Maintain strong relationships with families, partners, and third‑party service providers through positive communication and timely problem resolution
  • Model positive attitudes toward health, wellness, and YMCA values
  • Implement active risk management practices in accordance with YMCA policies
