About The Position

As Camp Supervisor, you help ensure a safe, well-run camp experience for youth and families in Cortez. This part-time, onsite role supports consistent program delivery and provides steady oversight for staff and participants.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior day care/childcare supervision experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to collaborate well with co-workers, children, and parents
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily camp operations, including documentation and record keeping
  • Create and organize lesson plans and activity schedules
  • Direct and support Camp Counselors as they lead activities and maintain participant safety
  • Communicate clearly with parents/guardians and team members
  • Arrive early to review the day’s plan, confirm attendance details, and set up spaces and materials so activities start on time.
  • Check in with Camp Counselors, adjust schedules for weather or group needs, and keep notes that help the program stay organized.
  • Handle quick questions from parents/guardians, update paperwork, and make sure transitions stay calm and predictable.
  • Reconcile records, resetting areas for the next session, and flagging any follow-ups for the next shift.
