About The Position

As the Program Coordinator at Camp Alice Pittenger, you will oversee all camp program areas, including managing program staff, developing program schedules, and organizing camp-wide events and traditions. Room and board are provided for the duration of employment. Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls offering programs from coast to coast and across the globe. Requirements

  • At least 21-years of age, preferred
  • Understanding of camp hours and the responsibilities of camp administrative staff
  • At least two seasons of camp or outdoor education experience, background in outdoor skills or outdoor recreation
  • Must feel comfortable living in a rustic camp environment with limited access to cell phone service and internet
  • Supervisory/Leadership experience
  • Is a dynamic leader
  • Experience leading children of all ages
  • Demonstrates strong independent judgment while proactively seeking guidance when appropriate
  • Experience facilitating camp activities such as archery, low ropes, rock climbing, arts and crafts
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Idaho Food Handlers Card

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at a camp or facility with a large waterfront, preferred.
  • Experience with the Girl Scout program, preferred.
  • ServSafe Manager, preferred
  • Wilderness First Aid, or higher, preferred
  • Medication Administration/Management certification, preferred
  • Lifeguarding or Lifeguard Instructor certification, preferred
  • USA Archery Level 1, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program areas, including archery, STEM, arts & crafts, low ropes, and group games
  • Supervise program staff in daily job duties, including program implementation, decision-making, behavior management, and troubleshooting
  • Design and deliver camp-wide programs, such as campfires, all-camp games, and themed meals
  • Assist in delivering staff training
  • Develop and coordinate programs, activities, and traditions for a safe, engaging, high-quality summer program, ensuring compliance with ACA standards
  • Design and oversee integration of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and badges into camp programming
  • Assist the Camp Director/Assistant Camp Director with weekly program scheduling
  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere
  • Provide excellent customer service to families and visitors
  • Manage mail and daily camper experience
  • Complete daily and weekly reports on inventory, staff well-being, and other camp operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
