About The Position

The Camp Nurse oversees the health and safety of campers and staff and the daily operation of Camp Kern’s health center. The role is responsible for medical records and medication distribution at the Main Camp Health Center, as well as oversight of the Elk Lodge Facility (Ranch Camp). The Camp Nurse handles parent communication regarding camper health and assists with staff training on health center procedures. The position is on call 24 hours a day, six days a week for camper and staff health-related emergencies.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must hold a nursing license in the state of Ohio.
• Must have at least six months of nursing experience.
• Must obtain CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications within the first 60 days of employment and keep them current.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have an insurable driving record according to YMCA insurance carriers.
• Must provide own transportation for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, and related travel.
