About The Position

Join a team committed to improving the lives of individuals living with epilepsy, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and chronic illnesses. The Family Resource Network (FRN) has impacted thousands of families for over five decades through more than 30 programs and services, as well as community events. FRN is a statewide organization serving over 3,500 individuals through direct service and 80,000 through training and education annually, focusing on community-based programs. The organization fosters a positive, inclusive, and values-driven culture emphasizing respect, integrity, and teamwork. Camp NOVA is a 7-day, 6-night overnight camp for youth and adults with epilepsy and/or other intellectual and developmental disabilities. It will take place from July 18th-25th, 2026, at Camp Linwood-MacDonald in Sandyston, NJ (Sussex County), hosted by Epilepsy Services of New Jersey, an affiliate of The Family Resource Network.

Requirements

  • LPN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Computer Proficient (MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to solve problems independently, effectively and creatively
  • Excellent Organization and Communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills to be able to juggle multiple plans for multiple families simultaneously
  • Must have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our consumers
  • Validate Driver’s license and car to be able travel throughout the state of New Jersey
  • Completes on the job and required state training

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of direct work with individuals with disabilities and their families preferred
  • Bilingual strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Distribution of medication, as prescribed and documented by a physician for each participant
  • Review camper health profiles and prepare any relevant questions for parents/guardians at drop-off
  • Document medication administration for each participant
  • Staff infirmary throughout the day and be available for any medical assistance needed
  • Respond to all injuries and write corresponding incident reports
  • Review all clients’ medical records and provide input to the Director(s) and Counselors regarding plans of care
  • Remain on-call overnight in case of medical emergencies
  • Provide medical information and resources to Camp NOVA staff as needed
  • Participate in staff training prior to the week of camp
  • Report to Lead Camp Nurse
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Camp administration
