About The Position

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited is a Canadian mining company focused on revitalizing the Eskay Creek gold-silver mine in northwest British Columbia. The Camp Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining camp facilities and supporting site infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on camp accommodations, kitchen and dining facilities, offices, warehouses, and supporting infrastructure. Additionally, the technician will operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain the camp Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and associated potable water systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing maintenance in a mining, industrial, construction, remote camp, or similar environment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid British Columbia Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) Water Treatment Plant Operator Level I Certification.
  • Experience operating and maintaining water treatment systems.
  • Experience performing general building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience safely operating power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Computer skills sufficient to complete maintenance records, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective team player who is willing to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on camp accommodations, buildings, kitchens, dining facilities, offices, recreational facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Complete general maintenance activities including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repairs, fixture replacement, and minor electrical repairs within the scope of training.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner to ensure camp facilities remain safe, clean, and operational.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify deficiencies and complete corrective actions as required.
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, grounds maintenance, and infrastructure inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and functional camp environment for all site personnel.
  • Operate, inspect, monitor, and maintain the camp Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and associated potable water distribution systems.
  • Perform daily operational checks, water quality testing, sampling, and system inspections.
  • Complete accurate record keeping, regulatory reporting, and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitor water quality to ensure compliance with provincial regulations, environmental permits, and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot routine water treatment system issues and coordinate repairs when required.
  • Maintain pumps, valves, filters, tanks, and related water treatment equipment.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with contractors or specialized service providers as required.
  • Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, water treatment logs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and spare parts.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Support site maintenance activities and assist other departments as required.
  • Participate in emergency response activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
  • Follow all Skeena Gold + Silver health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, and maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
