About The Position

We are seeking a reliable Camp Kitchen Attendant for rotational, site-based work at a remote mining camp site in the Winnemucca, NV region. Our camp operates at approximately 150 occupancy. If you’re dependable, safety-focused, and ready to support a busy camp kitchen team, we’d like to hear from you.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow detailed cleaning/food safety routines
• Food Safety / Food Handler certificate (required)
• First Aid / Advanced First Aid certification (required)
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and teamwork
• Ability to work rotational schedules in remote conditions
• MSHA certification is required
• Must comply with all applicable mine safety and health requirements, including MSHA regulations (30 CFR) and site-specific safety orientation/training
• PPE and site rules are required (specific PPE listed by the site upon onboarding)
• Reference and criminal record checks will be conducted
• Some sites may require pre-access drug screening and/or fitness-for-duty clearance
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Matrix will comply with all applicable U.S. employment verification requirements (I-9).

Nice To Haves

• Kitchen experience preferred (cold prep experience is a plus)

Responsibilities

• Support daily camp kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas
• Perform dishwashing, cleaning, and dish room organization to support meal service
• Assist with cold food preparation, including: Chopping and prep of vegetables, Preparing salads, Assembling sandwiches to menu and portion standards
• Assist with restocking stations and maintaining organized storage areas
• Help with labeling, storage, and rotation support (FIFO) as directed by the kitchen lead
• Assist with waste management and ensuring waste is handled properly
• Follow all Matrix procedures and support a team-first, safety-first work environment
