About The Position

YMCA Day Camp of Hooksett is seeking a Camp Medic for the summer 2026 season! If you are looking for a fulfilling summer job where you can support others in your community, gain valuable management experience and cultivate positive culture change – this is the opportunity for YOU Camp Hooksett, a traditional outdoor summer camp serving campers ages 6-15 is located at Hooksett Memorial School. Our staff are positive role models who help youth build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun. We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y The Camp Medic is responsible for each campers’ health and wellbeing while at camp, safety and participation in all aspects of camp life. These responsibilities include caring for sick and injured campers, dispensing medication, responding to emergencies, reviewing camper health records and maintaining health logs.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ experience working with youth and staff preferred
  • Current EMT, LNA, CNA, RN or Wilderness First Aid certification – licensure/certification subject to individual camp size, scope and location
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure and in high-stress environments
  • Ability to respond to and address medical emergencies at camp, and communicate/delegate needs during a medical emergency
  • Must be a positive, enthusiastic and caring individual who is sensitive to the needs and development of the children who attend camp
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season
  • Camp is open June 22 to August 21; Camp Medic must be available to work most of the camp weeks
