About The Position
We are seeking enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate students & professionals to lead our six-week summer day camp program for children with autism and on the spectrum, Camp Thrive. This rewarding role requires dynamic individuals who can create a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for campers overseeing the day-to-day activities of counselors and campers to ensure their safety, engagement, and participation in activities and assist with daily operations. The camp provides structured activities designed to support social, emotional, and sensory development while ensuring a fun and memorable summer experience for children with diverse needs. Camp Thrive is based at Rudolph Matas Elementary School, 1201 Elise Ave., Metairie, LA, 70003.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism and on the spectrum, is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
