About The Position

The University of New Hampshire is seeking a Camp EMT to provide treatment, such as first aid or life support care, to sick or injured patients. The EMT will assess people’s conditions and refer them to the next steps in care. Please note that this role is NOT able to assess an athlete for a head injury or athletic injury, nor can they perform taping or wrapping of an athlete. Additionally, the EMT cannot collect or administer prescription medication to campers. If only an EMT is working at the camp, they must appoint a Senior Staff Member to collect/administer medication. The University of New Hampshire is committed to providing a safe environment for all persons, including children, and to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect, and crimes against children. All UNH youth program staff are subject to a criminal background check as required by NH State Law. Staff and volunteers will also be required to complete periodic child safety training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • EMT certification
  • Assess people’s conditions and can refer to the next steps in care.
  • Provide treatment, such as first aid or life support care.

Nice To Haves

  • ARE NOT ABLE to assess an athlete for a head injury OR athletic injury.
  • ARE NOT ABLE taping or wrap an athlete.
  • CANNOT collect or administer prescription medication to campers.
  • If only an EMT is working at your camp, they must appoint a SENIOR STAFF MEMBER to collect/administer medication.
