Camp Counselor
About The Position
LEAD A GROUP OF 15-20 CAMPERS WITH THEIR DAILY ACTIVITIES - FOLLOW THE DAILY SCHEDULE PROVIDED BY THE CAMP COORDINATOR - ADJUST THE ACTIVITY OR SCHEDULE BASED ON THEIR GROUP NEEDS AND INFORM THE COORDINATOR. - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED BY THE CAMP COORDINATOR TO SUCCESSFULLY CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITIES AND DAILY PLANS. - DIVIDE THEIR GROUPS ON TRIP DAY AND ASSIGN THEM TO PARENTS OR OTHER CAMP VOLUNTEERS - KEEP A HEADCOUNT OF THEIR CAMPER THROUGHOUT THE TRIP DAY AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS SAFE -SHOULD ESCALATE ANY ISSUES TO THE COORDINATOR RELATED TO CAMPER BEHAVIOURS AND/OR CURRICULUM - PLAN EXTRA ACTIVITIES TO KEEP THEIR GROUP ENGAGED. ANY ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE COMMUNICATED TO THE COORDINATOR.

- Ability to follow a daily schedule.
- Ability to adjust activities based on group needs.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to divide groups and assign them to parents or volunteers.
- Ability to maintain a headcount and ensure camper safety.
- Ability to escalate issues to the coordinator.
- Ability to plan engaging extra activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of 15-20 campers with their daily activities.
- Follow the daily schedule provided by the Camp Coordinator.
- Adjust the activity or schedule based on their group needs and inform the coordinator.
- Follow the instructions provided by the Camp Coordinator to successfully carry out the activities and daily plans.
- Divide their groups on trip day and assign them to parents or other camp volunteers.
- Keep a headcount of their camper throughout the trip day and make sure everyone is safe.
- Escalate any issues to the coordinator related to camper behaviors and/or curriculum.
- Plan extra activities to keep their group engaged.
- Communicate any additional activities to the coordinator.
